Layering rugs, a Caribbean take
By HomeUp Editorial · 9 July 2026
Layering rugs is a designer trick that flatters tile, concrete and wide-plank floors alike — all of which you find across the island. Start with a large flatweave in a natural fibre, then drop a smaller, more patterned piece at an angle to define a seating zone. Keep palettes related, patterns different in scale, and never let a rug sit closer than six inches from the wall.
